Building with Toroidal Power Transformers/Wall Mount

Has anyone had experience building the Nava/Yocto with Toroidal Power Transformers? Seems kinda dangerous to me :?:

I have one of these ready to roll  http://au.mouser.com/Search/ProductDeta ... -VPT30-830

As I'm having trouble finding a 15V AC 1A/1000mA Wall Mount Transformer I'm tempted to try the build with the Toroidal

Thoughts?

Toroid TTS50/Z230/15-15V will be great for that, plus rectifier 2A, after that ~two caps both 25V and ~ 3500uF/each, next will be L7815CV with good heat sink attached. next two caps 25V and ~1000uF/each and voila you have stabilized 15V and with appropriate A if needed. Cheers

P.S. Put some 1A fuse on input also.
P.S.2 But you want AC from secondary only? So only fuse on input and toroid will be enough
